meet layla jane. she's new here.

when we took these photos last week, she was only 19 days old (every day counts!). now she's almost four weeks and growing every day. what a beautiful story for her parents, watching a life unfold!

stay tuned for a 'layla jane: exploring bklyn' edition in the next few weeks. we're gonna slather her in spf 100, put her safari hat on and snap in the sunlight.

a year from now, you'll wish you started today.

my beautiful yogi friend ty pearce and i share this gem-of-a-motivator. she's an amazing yoga instructor (i know from personal experience), and her strength may surprise you. she's also thoughtful, centered and quite the looker. you go girl.

check out some of our favorites from our session in fort greene park. i have a love/hate relationship with the stairs featured at the bottom of this post... the day after the shoot, she and i used them for an killer workout where we ran up the three sets more times than i'd like to remember. ouch!

find ty teaching at brooklyn boulders or book a private session for yourself. more info coming soon!

six-year-old kai is a triple threat. she's cute as a button, a natural yogi, and she's got mad drawing skills. during our session a few weeks ago, she drew a reindeer that i wanted to pop into a glossy red frame and hang in my room. to top it off, she sent me a note a few days ago thanking me for photographing her. it reads:

thank you for taking pictures of me because when i grow up i will forget what i looked like when i was a kid.

mission accomplished.

kai, you're a superstar! and thank you jorge and dea for opening up your home!

meet owen! he has a thing for strollers, especially those that are not his. lucky for him, we were in prospect park, so he had plenty to choose from.

owen is such a cute kid, and he loves his mama. what a small world, too: his dad felix trained me a few years ago for the montauk century ride for the leukemia lymphoma society through team in training. we would ride four laps around the 3.4-mile perimeter of the park at 5:30 in the morning. he had so much energy! sometimes, when i was lagging in the back of the pack (because it was 5:30 in the morning), he would drop behind me on his bike and PUSH me with such force that i would whiz to the front. something tells me owen is going to grow up on a bike.

thank you kris and owen for coming out!

jeremiah is an independent little fella. i think he wanted to take a walk around the block by himself during our session. he also has a hammock in his backyard. in brooklyn!!! that's summer sweetness.

our session was a blast. his parents joshua and stephanie are engaged, doting parents. jeremiah is a lucky kid, and so cute! thanks for a great session guys!
