Philly Phanatic and up-and-coming musician Josh Schurr is a triple threatin' lyricist who rocks the guitar, piano and vocals like it ain't no thang. Years ago we used to cutup in the back row of Sunday School class, which is most certainly where he learned to be such a hip dude because now he's serenading city slickers in cool, dark venues across NY and Philly. I recently caught him at Rockwood Music Hall on the LES, and if you're in the area, he has a show in Philly at The Grape Room. Go. And be prepared to swoon.

a few weeks ago, i shot jack + laura's wedding with the ever-talented daniel krieger at the new york botanical gardens. it was a welcome change of scenery, as i was beginning to think that congested crosswalks, concrete slabs and underground tunnels were earth's natural formations. but alas, true nature does exist in this crazy city (still love you, new york), and we found ourselves suddenly surrounded by blades of deep emerald green, brightly-painted bulbs and jack + laura's lovely friends and family. they couldn't be sweeter or more photogenic. enjoy the photos, and congratulations to the newlyweds!

meet layla jane. she's new here.

when we took these photos last week, she was only 19 days old (every day counts!). now she's almost four weeks and growing every day. what a beautiful story for her parents, watching a life unfold!

my beautiful yogi friend ty pearce and i share this gem-of-a-motivator. she's an amazing yoga instructor (i know from personal experience), and her strength may surprise you. she's also thoughtful, centered and quite the looker. you go girl.

check out some of our favorites from our session in fort greene park. i have a love/hate relationship with the stairs featured at the bottom of this post... the day after the shoot, she and i used them for an killer workout where we ran up the three sets more times than i'd like to remember. ouch!
